Appalachian Trail

While we won't be hiking much of the trail, we will get to some of the vistas that are close to roads to see some of the Appalachian Trail. Those who went before us make it so easy. Click here for an interactive map.

What is ALS

Not many people know much about Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. Once you learn to spell it and begin looking for information you can find out all you want to know. Some of the best information comes in a series of manuals produced by the ALS Association.

The manuals can be found here. I second the ALS's recommendation. Whether a PALS (Person with ALS), a caregiver, family or friend, only read the manual that is relevant at the time and for the circumstances being experienced. Otherwise you may be overwhelmed.
